Acrylic paint on d'Arches archival cotton rag paper.

4.1/2" X 6.3/4"

The paintings are made up of many layers of paint, sometimes as many as 12-15 layers. The fact that acrylic paint dries solid means that I can put one layer over another - either “scrubbing it off” before it’s fully dry or layering the paint and covering over sections after they have dried. I use a hair dryer to dry layers quickly so I can move smoothly along in the process. The texture created during this process also becomes part of the visual details.
